Netflix to Release Bold New Documentary Series on Till Lindemann

Netflix has officially greenlit a new documentary series titled Feuer und Fleisch: The Till Lindemann Story, focusing on the life, art, and enduring mystique of Till Lindemann, the charismatic and controversial frontman of German industrial metal giants Rammstein. Known for his ferocious stage presence, thunderous vocals, and poetic lyricism, Lindemann is one of the most enigmatic figures in modern music—and now, for the first time, his story will be told in full.

Spanning six episodes, the series will trace Lindemann’s journey from his early years in East Germany to the global arenas he now commands. Viewers will be taken behind the scenes of Rammstein’s explosive performances, confront the controversies that have followed him, and dive into the man beneath the fire and spectacle.

Directed by acclaimed German documentarian Werner Meier, Feuer und Fleisch promises an unfiltered, deeply human portrait. “Till Lindemann is a contradiction—brutal and sensitive, elusive yet intensely expressive,” Meier said in a statement. “This series is about more than a rock star. It’s about the raw emotional engine behind one of the most provocative artists of our time.”

The documentary will feature rare archival footage, candid interviews with Lindemann, Rammstein bandmates, artistic collaborators, critics, and fellow musicians who have been shaped by his influence. From early recordings in Berlin’s post-Cold War underground scene to sold-out stadium shows filled with flames, choreography, and controversy, Feuer und Fleisch will explore not just the music—but the mythology.

A special focus will also be placed on Lindemann’s work outside of Rammstein, including his solo music projects, published poetry, and collaborations in visual arts and performance. The series will delve into his disciplined upbringing as a trained Olympic swimmer, his transition into music during a time of political upheaval, and his reputation as both an artistic visionary and cultural provocateur.

Notably, the show aims to go beyond the surface spectacle often associated with Rammstein. Rather than sensationalizing, it will examine Lindemann’s relationship with identity, censorship, masculinity, and expression in a divided and evolving Europe.

Set to premiere globally in late 2025, the series will be available in multiple languages and accompanied by a soundtrack curated by Lindemann himself, including unreleased material and iconic tracks.

With Feuer und Fleisch, Netflix continues to push the boundaries of music storytelling. For fans of Rammstein, lovers of bold artistry, or those curious about the man behind the flame, this series promises a rare and riveting journey into one of rock’s most compelling personas.
