Legendary Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx is trading in his leather and eyeliner for something far more heartwarming — an animated series inspired by his young daughter, Ruby Feranna Sixx. Titled “Adventures with Ruby,” the upcoming show is set to premiere in early 2026 and will offer a whimsical, music-infused glimpse into life through the eyes of Sixx’s imaginative little girl.
Sixx, known for his larger-than-life presence onstage and as the mastermind behind some of rock’s most iconic anthems, announced the project this week via his social media channels, accompanied by a charming teaser poster. The new series, he says, is a deeply personal celebration of childhood wonder, creativity, and the magical bond between a father and daughter.
“Becoming Ruby’s dad gave me a new lens on life,” Sixx shared. “She’s full of joy, curiosity, and this fearless energy that inspired me to create something that captures that spirit. Adventures with Ruby is my way of preserving that magic — and sharing it with the world.”
The series follows a wide-eyed, adventurous girl named Ruby, loosely based on his daughter, as she embarks on daily journeys through both real and imaginary worlds. Each episode will explore themes of creativity, friendship, problem-solving, and music — with Sixx himself voicing the role of her loving (and occasionally goofy) rockstar dad.
Produced in collaboration with WildBrain Studios — the team behind beloved franchises like Peanuts, Yo Gabba Gabba!, and Inspector Gadget — Adventures with Ruby aims to bridge generations, offering laughs and lessons for kids while subtly nodding to longtime rock fans.
This marks Sixx’s first foray into the world of animation, though he’s no stranger to storytelling. The rock veteran is a best-selling author (The Heroin Diaries), photographer, and executive producer of The Dirt, the hit Netflix biopic about Mötley Crüe. But this latest project, he says, hits closer to home than anything he’s done before.
“This isn’t about the stage or the spotlight,” Sixx said. “It’s about the quiet, silly, beautiful moments I get to share with Ruby every day. And honestly, being her dad is the best gig I’ve ever had.”
The show will also feature original music composed by Sixx — a blend of playful rock riffs and lullaby-inspired melodies designed to bring each episode to life.
With Adventures with Ruby, Nikki Sixx is showing the world that even the most hardcore legends can have the softest hearts — especially when it comes to family.
