ARGENTINE PRIDE IS MY EVERTON #115

on

After what happened in the My Everton series, I have to start my story at the finish.

I initially submitted my story and the Club and hummel made me so happy. You see, I am from Argentina and, due to the economic situation, it is very difficult to import products without paying a huge tax surcharge – but they took care of it. I finally have an Everton shirt, which I will proudly wear in victory and defeat.

I began following Everton 13 years ago, when David Moyes was manager. At that time, I didn’t support any Premier League club but soon I began to enjoy players like Steven Pienaar, Mikel Arteta, Leighton Baines, Phil Jagileka, Tim Cahill, Louis Saha, Leon Osman, Tim

We won the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park 2-0 that season, with to goals from Mikel Arteta and Tim Cahill. That game was the “aha” moment for me, and Everton became a love that I pursued every day of my life.

From there, I began to read more about the Club’s history and found how important it is in England. I also looked through old videos and discovered some games from the 1980s, when Everton dominated and won numerous titles.

Inspired by that history and hooked on contemporary Everton games, I set out to share my enthusiasm for the Blues with as many people as possible in Argentina.

Other Premier League clubs are more popular in my nation, with many fans following teams with current Argentine players and others forming links with clubs that have a history with notable players from Argentina.

But it didn’t stop me from continuing to support the Club in this part of the world – and being able to participate to forums and chat to individuals who share my passion for Everton on social media is something I enjoy doing.

Of course, Everton has some Argentine connections, though not as prominent as some other English clubs. I like seeing Ramiro Funes Mori, and before him, we had Denis Stracqualursi. Pablo Paz, a former member of our national team, also had an unsuccessful tryout with the Blues in the early 2000s.

My ambition is to see Everton reclaim their place among the best. Nothing would make me happier than to see us win a trophy, and I hope we can do so while Seamus Coleman, one of my favorite players of all time, is still with us. His passion for Everton is tremendous and contagious. I hope football treats him fairly.

Whatever happens in the future, I will be here to spread the Everton message proudly supporting the club.
