In one of the most unexpected and thrilling live music announcements of the year, legendary punk rock pioneer Patti Smith has revealed plans for a worldwide 2025 tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album, Horses. Adding even more weight to the occasion, Smith will be joined on select North American dates by none other than heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, in what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime musical convergence.
Set to begin in Europe on October 6 at Dublin’s 3Arena, the tour will make stops in cities including Madrid, Bergamo, London, Brussels, Oslo, and Paris before crossing the Atlantic for a highly anticipated North American leg. The U.S. shows will bring Smith to cities such as Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, New York City, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia, where the tour will conclude on November 29.
For longtime fans and newcomers alike, this tour offers a rare opportunity to witness Horses performed in its entirety by Patti Smith and her enduring band, which includes longtime collaborators Lenny Kaye, Jay Dee Daugherty, Tony Shanahan, and her son, guitarist Jackson Smith. The album, originally released in 1975, is widely considered a cornerstone of punk and poetic rock, and its legacy has only deepened with time.
Adding a historic twist to the tour is the inclusion of Ozzy Osbourne as a special guest during the U.S. run. Osbourne, who recently announced what is likely to be his final performance with Black Sabbath in July 2025, will make limited appearances alongside Smith, delivering an unexpected and electrifying collaboration between two towering figures of different musical worlds.
This crossover of punk and metal—poetry and mayhem—will no doubt appeal to a wide spectrum of music lovers. It’s a pairing that seems unlikely on the surface, yet deeply aligned in spirit: both artists pushed boundaries, defied expectations, and gave voice to rebellion in their own visceral ways.
Speaking about the tour, Smith called it “a farewell gallop of our wildest steed,” emphasizing not just the celebration of the past but also the act of creative defiance that has always fueled her work. With rare appearances, powerful performances, and the presence of two legends on one bill, the tour is already being hailed as one of the defining live events of 2025.
Tickets are on sale now, with VIP packages and special memorabilia available for select shows. For fans of true musical artistry, this isn’t just a concert—it’s a historic gathering.
