Celebrated guitarist Nita Strauss has added yet another accolade to her growing list of achievements by winning the Best Instrument Player award at the 2025 FemMetal Awards. Known for her electrifying stage presence, technical brilliance, and genre-defying versatility, Strauss has firmly established herself as one of the leading guitarists of her generation—and now, she’s being honored for it by one of the most empowering platforms in rock and metal.

The FemMetal Awards celebrate women who have made significant contributions to the metal and rock scenes, recognizing their talent, innovation, and resilience in a predominantly male-dominated industry. Strauss’s win was met with thunderous approval from fans and peers alike, reinforcing her reputation as a trailblazer and virtuoso.

In her acceptance speech, Nita expressed heartfelt gratitude:

“This award means so much to me—not just because it’s about skill, but because it’s about passion. It’s about women being recognized for mastering their craft and playing loud, proud, and free. Thank you to FemMetal, and to every fan who’s supported me on this journey.”

Strauss first rose to prominence as a touring guitarist with all-female Iron Maiden tribute band The Iron Maidens, but her big breakthrough came when she joined Alice Cooper’s live band in 2014. Her explosive performances on stage alongside the shock rock legend captivated global audiences, and her technical prowess drew comparisons to some of the greats of guitar history.

Beyond her live work, Nita launched a successful solo career with her debut album Controlled Chaos in 2018, which showcased her command of complex compositions and melodic storytelling without words. Her 2022 follow-up album, The Call of the Void, featured collaborations with David Draiman (Disturbed), Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), and Alice Cooper himself—highlighting her genre-crossing appeal and respect in the industry.

A proud advocate for women in music, Strauss has also led numerous guitar clinics, motivational talks, and educational outreach programs aimed at inspiring the next generation of musicians. Her visibility and influence have made her a role model for aspiring guitarists around the world.

The Best Instrument Player award is a reflection not only of her technical excellence but of the impact she’s made in reshaping the image of what a modern rock guitarist can be. With this latest recognition from the FemMetal Awards, Nita Strauss stands tall as a symbol of power, precision, and persistence.

As she continues to tour, record, and inspire, one thing is clear—Nita Strauss isn’t just playing guitar; she’s rewriting the rules with every riff.
