Vincenzo Montella, the manager of Turkey, has supported Altay Bayindir, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, to excel if he is required to play this weekend.

Due to a pelvic injury he suffered while playing for Cameroon, Andre Onana is doubtful for United’s matchup with Everton. As a result, Bayindir, who cost £4.3 million to buy from Fenerbahce in the summer, may make his Premier League debut on Sunday at Goodison Park.

In Turkey’s 1-1 tie with Wales, Bayindir came on in the half-hour mark to replace the injured Ugurcan Cakir. The 25-year-old produced a great first impression, including a particularly well-timed save from Brennan Johnson in the second half.

“He performed admirably in our matches against Wales and Germany,” Montella remarked. “He is a young goalie, and I hope and expect that United will provide him with great experience.” I’m hoping he can get more experience playing football with the first team so when he returns to us, he’ll be even more skilled.

After being brought on late in Friday’s 3-0 triumph against Mauritius, Onana withdrew from the Cameroon FA’s squad for Tuesday’s encounter with Libya.

Onana left the Cameroon team on Sunday night and traveled back to the UK. Before United’s coaches decide whether to start him against Everton, he will go through a series of medical tests this week.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, will also have to wait anxiously for Marcus Rashford, who hobbled off as England defeated Malta 2-0.

Currently sidelined with injuries are Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Jonny Evans, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Amad Diallo, and Rasmus Hojlund.
