Jose Mourinho has purportedly agreed to depart Fenerbahce in order to accept an unexpected new managerial position.
Mourinho joined the Turkish powers in June, just days after the 2024 Champions League final.
Fenerbahce has achieved a comfortable second place in the Super Lig under the leadership of the Portuguese, but they have been unable to unseat the reigning champions, Galatasaray.
Mourinho’s tenure has been significantly influenced by off-field issues, as the 60-year-old has consistently expressed his dissatisfaction with the quality of Turkish refereeing.
Last month, he was also issued a three-match suspension for squeezing the nose of Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk following a Turkish Cup loss.
