Iggy Pop and Siouxsie Sioux Announce Surprise Collaborative Album Set for 2025 Release

Two of punk and post-punk’s most legendary figures—Iggy Pop and Siouxsie Sioux—have officially announced a joint studio album, sending shockwaves through the alternative music world. Titled Midnight Children, the album is set for release in early 2025 and marks the first-ever collaboration between the “Godfather of Punk” and the gothic queen of post-punk.

The news came via a surprise social media announcement, with both artists posting cryptic visuals featuring a silhouetted raven and snarling wolf against a midnight sky, followed by the simple caption: “Midnight Children – Iggy & Siouxsie. 2025.” Within hours, fans and fellow musicians flooded comment sections with disbelief and excitement.

Midnight Children promises to be more than just a nostalgic team-up—it’s a meeting of minds shaped by rebellion, reinvention, and resilience. While the full tracklist remains under wraps, sources close to the project reveal that the album blends moody post-punk atmospheres with snarling garage rock energy. Early studio insiders describe it as “dark, poetic, unhinged, and deeply personal.”

Iggy Pop, whose primal stage presence and unmistakable baritone defined the Stooges and helped birth punk in the late ’60s, continues to defy expectations well into his 70s. Siouxsie Sioux, known for her iconic work with Siouxsie and the Banshees and later The Creatures, helped redefine the role of women in alternative music, fusing glam, goth, and avant-garde into a singular legacy.

In a joint statement, the duo explained the inspiration behind the album:
We’ve always been shadows in each other’s world—different sides of the same flame. This album is for the outsiders, the nightwalkers, and the ones who never quite fit in.

Producers involved in the project include Nick Launay (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails), hinting at a sonically rich, emotionally raw record. The album is said to feature both artists trading vocals, with duets, spoken word segments, and even a few stripped-down acoustic interludes.

Rumors are also swirling about a potential joint tour in support of the album, though nothing has been confirmed. If it happens, it would mark Siouxsie’s first major global tour in over a decade and yet another late-career surprise from Iggy, who continues to push boundaries rather than retreat from them.

Midnight Children will be released on vinyl, digital platforms, and limited-edition deluxe box sets in February 2025. One thing is clear: when two legends like Iggy Pop and Siouxsie Sioux come together, it’s not just music—it’s a movement.
