Metal Mayhem at Midnight: Udo Dirkschneider Sued Over Lamborghini Exhaust Antics

Veteran heavy metal vocalist Udo Dirkschneider, best known as the former frontman of Accept and leader of U.D.O., is reportedly facing legal trouble after a late-night incident involving a Lamborghini Huracán, a bottle of alcohol, and a very unhappy neighborhood.

According to reports circulating in German media, Dirkschneider’s neighbor recently acquired the high-performance Italian supercar. On a quiet night in the otherwise peaceful village outside of Cologne, things took a wild turn when Udo—allegedly under the influence—decided to “test” the Lamborghini’s aggressive exhaust system at approximately 2 a.m.

Witnesses say the metal legend could be heard revving the 600-horsepower engine for several minutes, causing loud echoing blasts that woke up the entire neighborhood. Residents describe the noise as “deafening” and “non-stop,” with one neighbor calling it “worse than a full concert at Wacken.”

“It was like the apocalypse hit our street,” said one local, who requested anonymity. “You don’t expect that kind of sound unless you’re front row at a metal festival—and certainly not at two in the morning on a Tuesday.”

While Udo Dirkschneider has not made an official statement, sources close to the singer claim he was “celebrating” with a few drinks when the idea struck him to test out his neighbor’s new sports car. It’s unclear whether the neighbor gave permission for the impromptu joyride—or was even awake at the time.

The neighbor has since filed a noise complaint and civil lawsuit, citing sleep disturbance, emotional distress, and potential hearing damage. Several other residents are reportedly considering joining the suit.

This isn’t the first time Dirkschneider’s larger-than-life personality has caused a stir off-stage, but it may be one of the more bizarre stories in recent memory. Social media was quick to respond, with metal fans divided between outrage and amusement.

One fan tweeted:

“Only Udo could turn a Lamborghini into a midnight concert.”

Others were less forgiving, pointing out the dangers of operating high-powered machinery under the influence—even for a rock icon.

Local authorities have confirmed they’re investigating the incident, though no criminal charges have been filed as of yet. If found liable in the civil suit, Dirkschneider could face fines or be ordered to pay damages.

For now, it’s safe to say that the phrase “metal never sleeps” has taken on a whole new meaning—at least in this quiet German town.
