Netflix has announced the upcoming release of Beyond the Pink: The MGK Story, a bold and intimate documentary series chronicling the life and evolution of genre-bending artist Machine Gun Kelly. Slated for a global premiere in late 2025, the series promises to deliver an unfiltered look at the man behind the headlines—tracing his rise from Cleveland’s underground music scene to international fame.
Beyond the Pink: The MGK Story will explore Machine Gun Kelly’s transformation from a rebellious rapper to one of the most polarizing figures in modern rock. Through exclusive backstage footage, home videos, and deeply personal interviews with MGK (real name Colson Baker), as well as his family, collaborators, and close friends, the series aims to capture the complexity of an artist constantly reinventing himself.
MGK burst onto the scene in the early 2010s with rapid-fire rhymes and raw energy, gaining national attention with songs like “Wild Boy” and “Till I Die.” A fiery feud with Eminem further propelled him into the spotlight, but it was his unexpected pivot to pop-punk that shocked the music industry. With chart-topping albums like Tickets to My Downfall and Mainstream Sellout, produced by Travis Barker, he not only reinvented his sound but helped revive a genre.
The Netflix series will go beyond his music, offering an intimate glimpse into MGK’s personal life—including his struggles with addiction and mental health, his experiences as a father to daughter Casie, and his high-profile relationship with actress Megan Fox. In Beyond the Pink, viewers will see a version of MGK rarely captured by paparazzi or social media: vulnerable, self-reflective, and unfiltered.
“This isn’t a redemption story—it’s a human story,” one Netflix producer shared. “Beyond the Pink is about peeling back the layers and showing Colson’s journey with brutal honesty. The fame, the failures, the fear—it’s all there.”
The series will also explore his acting career, including his portrayal of drummer Tommy Lee in Netflix’s The Dirt, further highlighting MGK’s artistic range. With a visually immersive style and emotionally driven storytelling, Beyond the Pink: The MGK Story is expected to resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers curious about the man behind the music.
Whether praised as a bold innovator or criticized as a controversial figure, Machine Gun Kelly has never stopped pushing boundaries. Beyond the Pink offers a rare opportunity to see where it all began—and where he’s headed next.
