Nick Carter and Amy Lee Announce Genre-Bending Collaborative Album

“Echoes & Embers” Set to Redefine Boundaries Between Pop and Rock

In one of the most unexpected and captivating musical pairings of the year, Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys and Amy Lee, the powerhouse vocalist of Evanescence, have announced a collaborative album titled “Echoes & Embers.” Slated for release in early 2026, the album promises a bold fusion of pop, gothic rock, orchestral arrangements, and deeply emotional storytelling.

The announcement came via a joint livestream on July 19, where the two artists revealed details of the project and shared their mutual admiration. Though they hail from vastly different musical worlds — Carter from ’90s pop royalty and Lee from the alt-rock and symphonic metal scene — both expressed how the collaboration felt natural, even inevitable.

“This album is about contrasts — light and darkness, strength and vulnerability,” said Carter. “Working with Amy has allowed me to explore parts of my voice and songwriting I’ve never touched before. It’s easily the most personal project I’ve done.”

Amy Lee added: “We come from different musical universes, but we connected instantly. Nick brings a clarity and warmth that balances the drama and depth of the music we created together. The result is something entirely new — not pop, not rock, but something in between, something honest.”

“Echoes & Embers” will feature ten original tracks, blending Carter’s smooth melodic sensibilities with Lee’s ethereal, classically influenced vocals. The lead single, “Falling Through the Static,” is set for release in September, accompanied by a cinematic music video directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sophie Muller. Other rumored tracks include “Ashes of the Past,” “Gravity’s Silence,” and a piano-driven ballad titled “No Light Without You.”

Produced by Grammy-winner Greg Kurstin, the album draws sonic inspiration from acts like Florence + The Machine, Imogen Heap, and Massive Attack. Recording sessions spanned studios in Los Angeles, Nashville, and London, with a focus on analog instrumentation and atmospheric layering.

In addition to the album, Carter and Lee will embark on a special six-city North American tour in spring 2026, blending orchestral elements, stripped-down acoustic sets, and immersive stage visuals. Fans can expect powerful duets, reimagined solo material, and behind-the-scenes footage as part of the live experience.

“Echoes & Embers” isn’t just a crossover — it’s a reinvention. At its core, the project celebrates the unexpected harmony that can emerge when two contrasting worlds collide — a musical dialogue between two artists who dared to step outside their comfort zones and into something transcendent.
