Pundit calls out John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan for not warning Brendan Rodgers about Celtic defende

Amid the abject performances by Celtic in recent weeks, another thing that has to be questioned is Brendan Rodgers’ team selections.

The game against Hearts was more proof of that, especially when Alexandro Bernabei came onto the pitch as a second-half substitute before James Forrest – or even playing full stop!

Is that the Celtic boss trying to send out a message to the powers that be? There were chants of ‘sack the board’ during the Hearts defeat, so the pressure is certainly on them.

Either way, with Alexandro Bernabei, he is someone who has struggled during his time at Celtic and Stephen McGinn thinks he will ‘never be good enough’, as he told Go Radio.

£4 million signing from the summer of 2022, Alexandro Bernabei started 11 games last season and has only played 71 minutes of football this time around.

On one hand, it’s pretty clear that Brendan Rodgers doesn’t fancy him, nor is he a fan of the left-back.

But he would then bring him onto the pitch when the team needed a goal, which has just left Stephen McGinn confused, as he questioned why John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan haven’t warned Brendan Rodgers about him.

“The team selection isn’t making sense, at the minute,” said McGinn. “He isn’t being consistent.
