Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee has been awarded Man of the Match for his goalscoring debut in the 1-0 victory over Fulham.

The Dutch forward, who joined United from Bologna earlier this summer, came on as a substitute just after the hour mark and made a significant impact in our opening Premier League match of the season.

With the game still goalless in the 87th minute, Zirkzee expertly finished Alejandro Garnacho’s low cross from the right, securing three points for United in a tightly fought contest against Fulham.

Our new No.11 garnered 33 percent of the votes from fans on ManUtd.com and in the United App, which was enough to secure the top spot in our poll after his unforgettable moment in front of the Stretford End.

Speaking with MUTV’s Liam Bradford after the match, Zirkzee tried to express his feelings, saying: “Scoring and winning in front of the Stretford End is the perfect debut, so I’m really grateful.

“It’s an incredible feeling, and hopefully it’s the first of many. It’s hard to put into words, but it’s fantastic.”

Fans acknowledged numerous of Ten Hag’s Reds for their efforts in the opening-night victory, even though Joshua was the clear favorite of the crowd that evening.

Voters were aware of Casemiro’s consistent great play from the preseason and the Community Shield in midfield, as the Brazilian finished second behind Zirkzee with 19% of all selections.

Making his Reds debut after arriving from Bayern Munich earlier this week, Noussair Mazraoui looked comfortable playing right back and came in third in our poll.

Due to their roles in the victory over Fulham, Bruno Fernandes (11%) and Harry Maguire (10%) also garnered double-digit shares of the votes. We appreciate each and every voter.
