Mohamed Salah has cautioned that Arne Slot, the new manager of Liverpool, does not require the extra “pressure” of being compared to his predecessor, Jurgen Klopp.

After nearly nine years in command at Anfield, where he won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and two League Cups, Klopp announced his resignation as manager of Liverpool last season.

With goals from Diogo Jota and Salah, Liverpool defeated Ipswich 2-0 in their Premier League opening. Slot was the man tasked with filling the vacuum left by Klopp’s departure.

In response to a question about how Liverpool has changed under Slot’s leadership following Klopp’s departure, Salah issued a warning. He explained, “It’s quite different,” to TNT Sports. “Jurgen gave his all throughout his eight years on the team; the new management and system are in place today.

It’s different for each of us; we must adjust. All we have to do is watch how he plays football and have fun. We just need to play football and have fun in our games; we don’t need to put any extra pressure on him. Let’s wait and see.”

In light of the actual match, Salah continued, saying, “To be fair, it was pretty tough today because of the extremely warm weather.” We beat that strong team today, and I’m always thrilled to have made a difference. Especially when they [Ipswich] play at home, it may be really difficult.

“Everyone is in attendance. We anticipated a difficult game because we were aware of our experience before to the match.” Additionally, Salah created history when he scored in the first game of the season for a ninth time in history.

He became the most prolific Premier League opening-day goalscorer in history with his goal against Ipswich, surpassing Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney, and Frank Lampard in the process. He also provided an assist for Jota’s goal.

When told of the record, Salah remarked, “Hopefully I keep going like this for the whole season.” “I always help to try to help the team all the time, I’m always happy to score goals or assist.”

Next Saturday, Liverpool will play their first home game of the season against Brentford, and Slot will be looking to win his first game as manager at Anfield.
