Breaking News: Responding to Diego Simone’s remarks about the Premier League, Man City star Rodri strikes back at the Atletico Madrid manager
Rodri, an enforcer for Manchester City, has retaliated against Diego Simeone, manager of Atletico Madrid, for claiming that defending is a lost skill in English football.
After last Sunday’s exciting 4-4 draw between City and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, the Argentine—who has been Atletico Madrid’s manager since 2011—made the assertion. City appeared to have secured all three points in the 86th minute when Rodri’s shot was deflected, but Chelsea equalized in the fifth minute of injury time thanks to a goal from Cole Palmer, a former Blues youth.
For neutrals, it was a riveting spectacle, even though it was a nail-biter for City and Chelsea fans at moments. There were ten Premier League games last weekend, and thanks to the eight-goal thriller, a whopping 37 goals were scored.
