A report from Mundo Deportivo claims that Tottenham has no plans to let go of Cristian Romero and that they have set a lofty price tag of €175 million for him, which is likely to turn away other suitors. Real Madrid is eager to sign him, but they don’t have much chance to do so this summer, so they are planning to try again next year.

Romero joined the North London club in the summer of 2021 and has since flourished. Although it was initially a loan arrangement, the Argentine international made the move permanent the following summer, and he hasn’t looked back.

As one of the cornerstones of Tottenham’s new project under Ange Postecoglou, he has established himself as a staple in the first team. Romero has caught Real Madrid’s attention because to his regular performances for both club and country, as they are eager to strengthen their defense.

With David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger both approaching 30, and Nacho Fernandez’s departure, Los Blancos will need to find Eder Militao a new long-term partner. Romero is seen by them as the perfect fit for their system. His style of play indicates that he could be the ideal complement to the Brazilian center-back, and he has won numerous titles with Argentina.

Real Madrid made contact with the English team’s directors because they are eager to sign Cristian Romero. However, they were unsuccessful in their chase because they had no interest in allowing him. According to the rumor, they have placed an incredible €175 million price tag on their defensive star, who is 26 years old. His suitors will undoubtedly be turned off by the valuation.

Real Madrid has lost out in their pursuit, but they are not going to give up. The Argentine World Cup winner is predicted to hold onto interest from the Spanish powerhouses, and they may try to force him out of North London come summertime.

Tottenham does not intend to allow him to depart, as he has three years remaining on his contract. Romero will be Ange Postecoglou’s go-to guy, therefore they want him to stay as long as possible. Real Madrid isn’t likely to give up on him, though.
