The children of the late Southern rock icon Gregg Allman are coming together to release a deeply personal and revealing book about their father’s extraordinary life and enduring legacy. Titled Echoes of My Father: The Life and Legacy of Gregg Allman, the forthcoming memoir is set to offer fans a rare and intimate look into the man behind the music—told through the voices of those who knew him best.

Gregg Allman, a founding member of the legendary Allman Brothers Band, passed away in 2017 at the age of 69. Renowned for his soulful voice, raw songwriting, and pioneering contributions to the Southern rock genre, Allman left behind not only an indelible mark on music history but also five children—Devon, Elijah Blue, Layla Brooklyn, Delilah Island, and Michael Sean—many of whom have followed in his musical footsteps.

Devon Allman, the most publicly active of the siblings, has carried the family name into the next generation with bands like Honeytribe and The Allman Betts Band. Elijah Blue found his own niche in the alternative rock scene with Deadsy, while Layla Brooklyn has made waves as the lead vocalist of Picture Me Broken. Despite different upbringings and musical paths, each of Gregg’s children carries a piece of his legacy within them.

In Echoes of My Father, the Allman siblings share candid stories of their father’s complex life—his triumphs and trials, the highs of musical fame, the lows of personal struggles, and the quieter moments that defined their relationships with him. While Gregg offered his own perspective in his acclaimed 2012 memoir My Cross to Bear, this new book expands the narrative, offering new dimensions and emotional depth through the lens of family.

This collaborative memoir not only serves as a tribute to Gregg Allman’s monumental career but also as a celebration of the man behind the legend—a father, a flawed human being, and a musical visionary.

Though the release date and publisher details have not yet been announced, anticipation is growing among fans and music historians alike. Echoes of My Father promises to be a heartfelt and honest reflection on one of rock’s most revered figures—told with love, reverence, and the authenticity only his children can bring.
