Manchester United returned to action with a bang after the third international break of the season. This was far superior to United’s lackluster showing after the first, when they were defeated 3-1 at home by Brighton.

Alejandro Garnacho set up the 3-0 triumph with a spectacular overhead kick goal in the third minute.

Garnacho’s strike was dubbed the “goal of the season,” with Gary Neville describing it as “the best overhead kick he has ever seen.” Why should we stop there?

Garnacho is praised by Tarkowski.

Garnacho has received numerous compliments. That is understandable. The goal is one of the finest in Premier League history, not just this season.

Even Everton defender James Tarkowski was taken aback. He was taken aback by the strike’s quality.

“I thought we played really well in the first half,” he told the Everton website. They scored one of the best goals I’ve ever seen, particularly when I was on the field.”

Tarkowski stated that he thought Everton had played well until a second-half penalty doubled Manchester United’s advantage, and that he disagreed with the decision.

“We had four or five great chances but just didn’t put it in the net,” he remarked.

“Penalty kills the game in the second half.” I never saw it again, but it seemed velvety at the moment.”

Manchester United is on a roll.

Manchester United have been grinding out results in recent weeks. This was summed up by a lackluster but effective 1-0 win over Luton Town before the break.

This win at Everton was a more complete performance, with three goals from forwards, and Garnacho’s goal gave the team a spark. This was necessary ahead of a difficult week, in which United travels to Galatasaray and then to Newcastle. Two defeats could drastically change the narrative, but at least United head into these games on form and with restored belief.
