A few players may return from injury and be available to participate, giving Man United a double injury boost.

The season for Manchester United has been characterized by injuries. Sadly, the Reds’ extended absence of several key first-team players has made Erik ten Hag’s task considerably more difficult.

Fortunately, Andre Onana and Marcus Rashford’s ailments during the most recent international break were not severe. Both ought to be fit to play this Saturday against Everton.

Before the matchup with The Toffees, the Manchester Evening News gave us all an injury update that might have been very good news.

They think that two players could return this weekend, giving United a double injury boost against Everton.

Let’s start with Rasmus Hojlund. Due to an injury sustained against Luton, the striker has not been able to play for Denmark in recent weeks. He was always anticipated to return before the end of December, despite having a hamstring problem that wasn’t considered to be serious.

Luke Shaw comes in second. The Englishman’s wound is substantially more severe. He hasn’t been spotted since the season’s opening matchup against Tottenham Hotspur, but this Sunday is his possible return date, according to reports.

Hojlund beginning that game makes perfect sense to me, but I would be shocked if Shaw was put in danger, especially early on. Given how long he has been out and how little we have seen of him in camp, I would only give him a remote chance of making the starting lineup. He might come off the bench late in the game against Everton if all goes according to plan, but even then, it seems like too much danger.
