Everton are concerned that a key player will miss the Manchester United match after withdrawing from the international squad.
The 22-year-old has been one of Sean Dyche’s standout performers this season, and he was connected with a number of clubs in the summer. An injury, however, could keep him out of Everton’s forthcoming games, including Manchester United’s visit to Goodison Park.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Onana departed the Belgium national squad due to a calf injury. As a result, after missing Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Serbia, the midfielder will miss his team’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Azerbaijan on Sunday.
It’s crucial to remember that the seriousness of the injury is unknown, and we’ll have to wait for Dyche’s reaction after the international break to find out whether Onana will be available to play on 26 November.
Due to the same injury, Onana missed Everton’s last game against Brighton.
This might be a further setback for Everton, who have already been docked ten points for violating Premier League profit and sustainability rules.
