After Chelsea, Jude Bellingham responds to a five-word message from Everton’s Lewis Dobbin.

Everton are a club that takes pleasure in producing young talent, and this has paid off spectacularly over the years.

The breakthrough of Anthony Gordon recently saw them regain a nice £45m amount, while Ross Barkley and Antonee Robinson are also excelling for their respective Premier League clubs after emerging from Finch Farm.

It’s a simple and low-cost way to bolster the first team, which Sean Dyche really needs right now.

Fortunately, he appears to have found his new star in Lewis Dobbin.

Despite making a few senior outings for the Toffees, the 20-year-old has rarely threatened to score in his short minutes. So, when he came on late against Chelsea yesterday, it was supposed to be a like-for-like substitution to give Jack Harrison a well-deserved respite.

The youthful winger, however, did not follow the script and instead blasted home a devastating left-footed strike from a corner to score his maiden goal for Everton and first in the English Premier League.

He would just write on Instagram, ‘Dreams Really Do Come True,’ in response.

This elicited a flurry of responses, the most famous of which were Jude Bellingham’s ‘Congrats Bro’ and Fabrizio Romano’s blue heart and clapping emojis.

How did Lewis Dobbin fare against Chelsea?

Following an impressive loan spell with Derby County in which Dobbin scored 11 goals in all competitions, it was thought that Dobbin would be given more senior minutes this season at Goodison Park.

Few could have predicted that Dyche would be so eager to keep him involved, despite his seven senior games, including a single start in the Premier League against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

While it is difficult to grade a performance that lasted only 12 minutes, his impact on the game was enormous given how Chelsea was continuing to press for the equalizer they would feel they deserved.

It was a powerful strike that capitalized on Robert Sanchez’s weak punch to end the game.

Aside from that, the trickster would get four touches, hitting the mark with the only long ball he attempted and enjoying a 100% pass accuracy, according to Sofascore.

Dobbin appears to have only just began his ascension to the top level, with the acclaim from these and others just serving to bolster his efforts.
