Everton might face a ‘further nine-point deduction’ if the Premier League club’s predicament worsens.

The Premier League has already docked Everton ten points, but the situation might deteriorate quickly.

Everton might face another point deduction, bringing them closer to relegation from the Premier League, as rival teams prepare to file a legal appeal. The Premier League has already deducted 10 points from the Toffees this season for breaking financial laws, and the Merseyside club’s difficulties could be aggravated by a second loss of nine points, according to sources.

Everton were sent to an independent commission in March for alleged 2021-22 season violations, and a hearing was held last month.

And their punishment was confirmed on Friday when the Premier League imposed a 10-point deduction effective immediately, dropping them to 19th in the table with only four points.

A additional nine-point deduction might jeopardize their chances of avoiding relegation, as Sean Dyche’s side would drop to the bottom of the table with -5 points and only 26 games to get out of trouble.
