Everton’s anticipated line-up vs. Burnley: Three changes were made, with inexpensive signings and key players missing.

Everton will look to extend their unbeaten record in December when they go to Turf Moor on Saturday evening for the late Premier League kick-off, with Sean Dyche ready to face Burnley for the first time since leaving the club where he earned his name as a manager.

The Toffees have won three league games in a row without conceding a single goal, with impressive victories over Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, and Chelsea, but they will have to do so without at least two key players this weekend against Vincent Kompany’s side, who also have injury concerns.

We’ve compiled all of the latest team news and injury updates here, as well as our best estimate at Dyche’s starting XI for a game that will hold a lot of personal meaning for the Everton manager.

Defense & Goalkeeper

Jarrad Branthwaite hasn’t missed a single minute since being named in the opening line-up against Wolverhampton Wanderers in August, but he will be absent this weekend due to a one-match suspension for collecting five bookings. Michael Keane or Ben Godfrey will partner James Tarkowski at centre-back, with Dyche confirming Keane’s fitness following a small knock in training.

Ashley Young is only one yellow card away from being sent out, but Dyche has announced that he will not be available this weekend regardless – the 38-year-old had a muscle strain against Chelsea last weekend and isn’t totally healthy. Seamus Coleman, Everton’s other seasoned full-back, is the only other absentee due to a knock, but he has only made one game in the top division this season.

Midfield

Idrissa Gana Gueye, a holding midfielder, will almost probably miss out this weekend because he, too, has five bookings after seeing yellow in the triumph over Chelsea, and as a result, the Senegalese international will be suspended until next week’s game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Abdoulaye Doucouré has four yellow cards this season and will miss a game if he gets on the wrong side of the referee again, but he should be ready to continue his unbroken streak of Premier League starts until then. Amadou Onana is anticipated to be fully fit after not playing a full 90 minutes since the win over West Ham United at the end of October.

Outside of defense, Everton have no new injury concerns, and the only players who are likely to be absent at Turf Moor are André Gomes and Dele Alli, both of whom have yet to play this season. The good news is that Dele, who opened up about his struggles with mental health concerns and a sleeping pill addiction over the summer, has returned to first-team training, but he won’t be selected to the squad for a while.

Forwards

Everton have a clean bill of health up front, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin likely to start for the third game in a row as he looks to put a difficult time with injuries behind him and rediscover his best form – he has generated an xG of 2.88 in his last three games without scoring, but a good performance in East Lancashire will hopefully help to restore his confidence and scoring touch.

The home side does have problems in the final third, with Luca Koleosho likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury against Wolves in last week’s midweek games, and joint top-scorer Lyle Foster, who has missed the last seven league games due to injury, now a doubt due to illness.

Full expected starting lineup vs. Burnley

Pickford; Mykolenko, Keane, Tarkowski; McNeil, Garner, Onana, Doucouré, Harrison; Calvert-Lewin
